Sometimes, Swamiji might do pujas differently. All the Devatas listed do get involved, but we do not know when.
Swamiji’s processes and methods are unique. There is one method in which we see Mother as only ONE.
O Bhagavathi! You help us transcend this ocean of samsara. We are so mired in samsara – children, taking birth again, earning money, etc. Samsara is this constant cycle of rebirths. This must be transcended.
Narasimha Swamy asked Prahlada if he was afraid of beholding the Lord. The latter responded: Your compassion is unmatched. I do not see your fierceness; I see your compassion.
Ambika and Ambalika were afraid of looking at Vyasa’s form and therefore they had sons who also had impairments.
Sage Vyasa looked very strange. He had a lot of hair and fierce bulging eyes. Sage Vyasa did not even touch the women. He just had to bless them, but they were still scared. Satyavati, the mother of Vyasa, asked Vyasa for help as her children would be childless otherwise.
When Vyasa approached Ambalika, during the Niyoga ritual, she was overcome with fear at his austere presence and turned pale. From this was born a son whose body bore that pallor, and he was therefore named Pandu.
Ambika, the other wife of Vichitravirya, sent her maid in her place to Sage Vyasa during the Niyoga ritual to bear a child. Earlier, when Sage Vyasa had approached Ambika herself she had been so startled by his austere appearance that she shut her eyes. The son born from that union, Dhritarashtra, came into the world blind. This time, however, the maid received Vyasa with reverence and devotion, and from that union was born Vidura—endowed with wisdom, devoted to Vishnu, and remembered as a man of noble character.
O Mother, you help us transcend this ocean of samsara. Please protect my constant contemplation on the self. You are attained only by such people. O Mother, wielding the trident, You remove all our fears. O Mother, You are the flow of the word Sat which denotes Parabraman. So, the word Tata or Tataji is close to Brahman (earlier during the evening, Pujya Swamiji advised that devotees refer to him as Tataji since the term ‘Swamiji’ evokes a feeling of separation and the term ‘Appaji’ was no good.
O Mother, You burn away all my karma from many births. You are resplendent with the beauty of Lakshmi. Please shower compassion on me, O Mother, this composition says.
Uttering the word Kali removes all our troubles immediately because Mother is always looking to protect us. Almost half of India north of Madhya Pradesh worships Kali. South of Madhya Pradesh, we worship Mother as Raja Rajeshwari and Saraswati. Further east, we worship Her as Lakshmi.
Mother is protecting us. So, if you chant just Ayim, or just Hreem, or just Shreem, those are powerful. Or, you can chant Ayim Hreem Shreem, this is a big upasana. Before Navaratri ends, we will give you some mantras, and you will need to chant them before next Navaratri.
Next year, Yogini Matas Pujas will be done – 60 years of Pujas will be done. So we will offer that mantra japa topro Mothers. Then, it will be good for us, our children and grandchildren and this world.
Many people in Sanatana Dharma are choosing not to have kids. Everyone else has a lot of kids, but we are not. So, at least now, let us look for the path to Liberation. There is no point complaining that our population is diminishing while the others’ is rising. We should look ahead. We should plan for our upliftment and for the protection of future generations. Since we have made the mistake of not having enough kids, we will need to chant these mantras.
