The new people present here today should know that Ganapati, Durga Parameshvari, Hanuman with Sri Rama and Sita Mata, Skanda, Shiva and Datta have been consecrated in this temple. The crystal Shiva Linga is wonderful. The main deity in this temple is Hanuman. Swamiji established Karya Siddhi yantra in this Hanuman shrine. It is very powerful. The tremendous vibrations from the yantra bestow peace. First we need peace and some knowledge, but we are all wallowing in worldly problems. However, Hanumanta fulfills all our wishes. There are many new people. You can tie Toram to any of the four pillars by the shrine. Each pillar bestows certain wishes. First, we need good health. If you are healthy, you will be able to do your bit of service. We can offer any kind of seva if we are healthy. First, pray for good health. Then pray for Jnana/knowledge. We need knowledge because we are busy with family and other worldly affairs.

We moved here from India. We have job problems, money problems, family problems, etc. The little knowledge we have is not enough. We need much more Jnana. The goal of human birth is the acquisition of Jnana/knowledge. There are so many books. We know of so many sutras and scriptures, but we do not know how to put them into practice. There is no satisfaction. Fulfillment is lacking because we are mired in samsara and are dealing with health issues of one member or another in the family. Afflictions and desires invade us relentlessly one after another. It is very difficult to adjust. We get phone calls from India about parents or grandparents being unwell. Perhaps the grandmother fell down in the bathroom; or there is no one to take care of an ailing father or mother. It is very hard to move to India as the children attend school here in the US. We get frustrated and exhausted.

That is why many searched and discovered Sri Swamiji and this Ashram and got themselves spiritually busy. Worldly problems start diminishing as people pay lesser attention to them.

Use this Hanuman temple. There are many new people today. There are also many here who are devoted for 35-40 years. The devotees too have problems but why are they always happy?

They too have problems with money, worries about the job situation or anxiety about relatives in India. Yet they are happy. You can ask them and they will tell you that they are happy because they are busy with Swamiji’s activities. You all (new people) should also gain that energy and the strength to face difficulties.

Everyone sitting here including Hanumanta has problems. Life without problems is not complete. You may have a sumptuous feast served to you, but you yearn for that chutney or pickle on the side that will complete the meal. All the difficulties we face are like that pickle. You can set it aside if you wish. You cannot eat too much pickle; you can only eat a little bit. If the mind is strong, you can face any difficulty. You must gain the energy that long time devotees of 35-40 years have. If you keep storing more and more spiritual energy, the problems will not faze you. You will not care for pickle anymore; the sambar would be enough. But as long as you are obsessed with worldly affairs you will be beset with more problems – you will want more and more pickle. We relish more pickles (difficulties) when we are obsessed with worldly affairs. You must have spiritual huger, then every word of the Sadguru will be understood. But if you have no hunger, the speeches will make no difference.

Regardless of how many speeches you heard in the past, you must hunger for words of Guru.

Physical seva is very important. The more you volunteer the more will realize that the joy from it is unparalleled. Ask the volunteers. They are so happy because they have surrendered their body to Swamiji’s service. They have more problems than we do but they do not care. They cannot even listen to Swamiji’s speeches because they are busy serving. But the volunteers do not feel like they are missing Swamiji’s lectures or pujas. They consider their service as the Puja offering. They consider their service Swamiji’s lecture. They will catch up on the events via Faceook afterwards.
We pray for Lord Hanuman’s blessings on your parents, children, job, health, etc.
