771. Durārādhyā

Meaning – Worshipping/ reaching Her is very difficult.

Those who are controlled by the senses, those who forget the Divine Lord or those who do not believe in the Supreme find it very difficult to worship Her. Such people cannot reach Her. To such people She is Durārādhyā.

772. Durādharṣā

Meaning – No person can hold Her under his sway. She can only be pleased but not controlled.

773. Pāṭalī-kusuma-priyā

Meaning – She loves the Bignonia Suaveolens (pātali) flowers.

774. Mahatī

Meaning – She is vast, immeasurable and great.

This universe (brahmānda) is said to be 1,87,74,920 crores yojanas wide. (One yojana is approx 8 kms.) Within this exists the 14 lokas, the Solar system with all its planets and many more. Bruhati and Mahati are synonyms. Bruhadeshwara is the Lord who is immeasurable. His shakti (energy) is Mahati.

Narada’s Veena is Mahati. Such Veena only brings out the sound Narayana.

775. Meru-nilayā

Meaning – Mountain Meru is Her residence.

Mountain Meru is located deep within the earth. It is the support for this entire earth. It peaks at the Arctic Circle. The Kailasa Mountain, Sushumna nādi and the Bindu (dot) of the Srichakra are also known as Meru. Among the fingers, the middle right finger is also called Meru.

776. Mandāra-kusuma-priyā

Meaning – She loves the hibiscus flower (mandāra) that is red in colour.

777. Vīrārādhyā

Meaning – The valiant warriors (virya) devoutly worship Her.

Prahlada and Indra are referred to as Maha-viryas.

778. Virāḍ-rūpā

Meaning – She is the universal form. She has manifested in the form of this entire visible world.

779. Virajā

Meaning – She is devoid of trait of rajas (rajo guna, passion, action).

780. Vishwato-mukhi

Meaning – This entire visible world is Her face.

The Divine Lord is often addressed as- Sahasra-sheersha, Sahasra-pāda which means ‘He who has a thousand heads, thousand feet. Here the term ‘sahasra or thousand’ represents infinity. These names imply that She is omnipresent.
