Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – Sri Chakra Puja – February 1, 2026 – SGS Ashrama, Jayalakshmipuram
Datta Swamiji instructs that the moolika teertha should be consumed carefully, not wasted or poured on the head. It contains 32 medicinal herbs and has been used to do abhisheka to salagrama.
Mother’s Aradhana program happens during the tithi, although it can additionally be done at other times. It must be done during the tithi though. We did aradhana today for the benefit of Kriya Yoga sadhakas.
All of us following Vedas and mantra/tantra shastra, and following Guru are all jiñāsus – that means we are inquiring with ourselves and walking towards God. The desires of samsara and the bondage are never ending. It’s like holding on to a pillar and crying for release. You have glued yourself to this samsara very firmly. You keep increasing the bondage. Your entire body is filled with that glue, you are filled with afflictions and then you run to Swamiji for relief. You took on this bondage intentionally. These karmas will not end easily, they will lead to future births. As much as possible, we should not hug the pillar, we should not get stuck in samsara.
You are getting stuck in samsara expecting happiness. You think spouse, children, money, business, heirs give you happiness. With a lot of desires, we get married. We cannot get rid of desires. We can neither drop it, nor immerse in it. It’s like pure hot ghee. We cannot swallow the hot ghee, nor can we spit it out because it’s expensive. This is how samsara is – like hot ghee. The bondage propagates. We build a home and then want one more room, and then add another level to the house. We get into debt to do the construction.
You eat 16 masala vadas and then complain of stomach ache. WE need to be within limits. If we exceed the limit, we suffer.
People drive very fast and get into accidents. Why are you in such a hurry to reach Yama? You must tell the driver to slow down, or ask him to get off. Somebody wanted to record his antics and used both hands to sing and clap while driving a motorcycle. He fell into a river and died. This is bad death. Even those who willfully take away their own life have a bad death. Honor or dishonor, pain or pleasure, you must live. If you have this equanimity, God will protect you. You have no devotion.
God is not waiting for your coconut offering or your prostration. God does not care for your offering. We should strengthen our devotion. Jayalakshmi Mother and Annapurneshwari Mata are both here. Mother was also Annapurna Mata, that is why we have both. She was the visible God, that is why we have the mrittika (mud) pratishtha. Her body is not laid to rest here, it is only the ashes.
Narasimha Shastry was yateeshwara, that is why his body is placed here and the place is the shrine of Shiva.
Today we are doing Aradhana. You have come from various places and are fortunate to be part of this event.
Narahari Teertha Swami liked Rava (semolina) laddu. When you offer this to him, he grants your wishes. Even if he doesn’t, you will find great peace at home. Plus, you will find a great answer to your problem. And if you don’t, you will find the courage to face the problem. Everyday, he would eat rava laddu…even before the day be left.
Mother liked feeding everyone Sankati. That is why you are getting sankati – ragi (finger millet) mudde and rava laddu.
We will start doing panchotsavas here. ONe day, Ganapati, one day Skanda etc. Today, we are doing panchotsava for Mother.
We will do Mantapa, then Pallaki, and then Ratha (up to the pond) and then Teppa and then Dolotsavam. This is the worship of the five gross elements. Many have sponsored the panchotavas. You can sign up for this event that takes place every full moon day.
The five elements circulate in our body. When they are out of balance, we get sick. Mantapotsava relates to mooladhara (the base chakra) – this relates to back pain and one can find relief due to this utasava.
Ratha Utsava – Helps with relief in any part of the body. You see lakhs of people attending or witnessing or conducting rathotsavam in general. This is very special.
Pallaki Utsava – Problems with heart, or head are relieved. Those with heart blocks will find relief.
Teppa Utsavam – This is like the ganga in the ida/pingala nadi. The Ganga river flows as blood in our body in the 72k nadis. Issues related to kidneys, stomach, eyes, ears etc will be alleviated faster when we take medicines.
Dola Utsava – This is good for elders at home as well as the future children. This is very special and is very popular in northern India.
Rathotsava too is very popular, many even get crushed under the wheels. In Tamil Nadu, Pallaki Utsava is very popular. We invited them to Mysuru Ashrama and they were very robust and sturdy people. They placed Swamiji in the wooden palanquin that is very heavy. The first time I sat in it, I asked to be get off, but they prayed to Swamiji to continue sitting on the palanquin. They lift it up high and take Swamiji around. It was so wonderfully done. All the people carrying the palanquin are trained. They jump up and down in rhythm, so when the moorti of god is placed, the moorti does not move. All 16 of them jump at the same time. This Pallaki Utsava is very popular in Tamilnadu.
We are doing these five utsavas that are described in the various agama shastras. Just as annadana takes place here every full moon day, the pancha utsavas too are not taking place. I wish for the pond to be a little bigger. So, I started the panchotsavas today.
Swamiji will now give Darshan as devotees file along in a line.
Datta Swamiji releases Shatashloki Ramayana writing books in English and Kannada.
