Every phrase, word and letter uttered by our Jagadguru should be learned and understood. We should advance our Bharateeya (Indian) tradition. You are getting this great fortune because of your parents and forefathers.
Once upon a time, great saints and yogis would get lakhs of copies of the Gita printed and distributed to people for free. Everyone would keep a copy and would keep studying it. This was about 200 years ago. Your ancestors may have been part of this.
Sometimes, they would even place gold covers on the books and distribute them. Some placed silver covers on it. Swamiji has some in the museum. Printing and distributing the book was a practice before. I wish for that to resume again. You can take the books from ADPT bookstore and distribute for free to those who are unable to buy. How wonderful that would be! Each person can distribute about a 100.
These days, having the Gita book with us will do us good.
We are taking a count of all memorizers so far. As soon as we hit one crore, we want to have a big program in Kurukshetra.
In Hyderabad Gachibowli, we will have GIta Parayana on March 25, 2026.
I see some people here who have the ability to get a gold medal. I saw about 42 readers who were studying with great dedication. You too can be one of the future gold medalists.
You must memorize so that you can chant the shlokas whenever you want in the 24 hours each day. It will come in very handy in your (life) journey. Those who memorized the Bhagavad Gita cannot forget this experience.
Swami Chinmayananda ji worked very hard to bring out the Bhagavad Gita into common consciousness. Many Swamis did it after – including Sri Vidyaprakashananda Giri. He came to see Swamiji too. He wondered why Gita was not reaching all homes. It is happening now. Not just among Telugu people, but across all states. Everyone has started doing Bhagavad Gita Parayana. I am very happy.
There are many here who also went to Sringeri and won prizes and then offered their gift prize to the Gita International Foundation. You may also try to do this.
Everyone must pledge to chant at least one chapter a day, every day. Do not just escape chanting a small chapter each day. You can even chant while showering, or while eating or snacking. Just leave out one activity in the morning, (I don’t need to tell you what that is), otherwise you can chant at any time.
We will have Gita chanting at Bharat Mantap in New Delhi, in November 2026. Plan to be there.

You chanted without a break. That is determination. The reason I had you chant fast – you will find out later. We will have a contest for fast chanting. I will not give a prize; I will hug the winning student.
A boy always kept saying he could not memorize the Gita. I told him I would give him a kiss if he learned it. He worked so hard and only focused on school and Gita and won the gold medal. He was very resolute.
